Summary:
Turkey, located in the South-eastern Europe, is one of the few countries in the world that are befittingly classified as Eurasian. Taking into account the utmost strategic importance of its geographical surroundings and its vast and rich cultural and historical heritage, one could say that Turkey is a major economic power in its surrounding spheres of influence and its region. As a result of the declaration of the Turkish Republic on October 29th 1923, the country’s economy opened itself up substantially more to the international market, in comparison to the Ottoman Empire’s era.
